IELTS Preparation — Individual Course (1 Month)

Intensive one-to-one preparation for candidates targeting Band 7.5 and above. This is not a general English course: every session is built around your diagnostic results, your target band, and the specific criteria examiners score you on.

How it works

We start with a full mock test and diagnostic. From there you get a personal study plan showing exactly which band descriptors are holding your score down — task response, coherence, lexical range, grammatical accuracy, fluency, pronunciation — and how to move each one up.

What we cover

  1. Writing: Task 1 and Task 2 structures, argument development, precision in academic vocabulary, and the accuracy issues that cap most candidates at 6.5. Every essay returned with band-by-band feedback.
  2. Speaking: All three parts, with recorded practice, fluency work, and strategies for Part 3 abstract questions. Mock speaking tests under exam conditions.
  3. Reading: Timing strategy, skimming and scanning under pressure, and the question types that cost candidates the most marks.
  4. Listening: Accent exposure, prediction, and the traps in Sections 3 and 4.

Course details

  1. Format: Individual, one-to-one
  2. Duration: 1 month, intensive
  3. Schedule: Flexible — sessions arranged around your availability and test date
  4. Includes: Full diagnostic mock test, personal study plan, marked writing tasks, recorded speaking practice, and a final mock exam under timed conditions
  5. Entry requirement: Current level of Band 6.5 or equivalent, confirmed by the diagnostic test

My commitment to you

If you complete all assigned work and don't reach your target band, you continue with free sessions until you do.

TOEFL : Individual preparation

This self-paced prep course is fully optimized for the current multistage adaptive format of the TOEFL iBT exam, which evaluates a mix of academic and real-world campus skills.

🧭 Course Overview & Strategy

The TOEFL exam takes under 2 hours to complete. Because the Reading and Listening sections adapt their difficulty level based on your performance in the initial modules, this course emphasizes pacing, structural accuracy, and active elimination strategies. Each section is scored on a modern 1.0 to 6.0 band scale (in steps of 0.5 points).

📚 4-Week Comprehensive Curriculum

Week 1: Reading & Text Architecture

Mastering the mix of daily campus notices, paragraph-completion mechanics, and deep academic textbook analysis.

  1. Day 1-2: Mechanical Precision (Complete the Words)
  2. Focus: Reconstructing truncated words in paragraphs.
  3. Skill: Strengthening sub-word processing, vocabulary decoding, and parts-of-speech context cues.
  4. Day 3: Practical Navigation (Read in Daily Life)
  5. Focus: Skimming and extracting critical directives from menus, emails, flyers, and campus announcements.
  6. Day 4-5: High-Level Comprehension (Academic Passages)
  7. Focus: Attacking 700-word academic texts efficiently. Tracking rhetorical functions (cause/effect, compare/contrast) and master-level questions (Inference, Sentence Insertion, Prose Summary).
  8. Weekend Lab: Full Reading section timing drill (50 items / 30 minutes).

Week 2: Listening & Adaptive Focus

Training active note-taking and context tracking across casual and formal environments. Note: In this modern adaptive format, you cannot go back to a previous question.

  1. Day 1-2: Immediate Comprehension (Choose a Response & Announcements)
  2. Focus: Predicting short conversational replies and parsing structural instructions from public speakers.
  3. Day 3-4: Context & Traps (Conversations & Academic Talks)
  4. Focus: Note-taking layouts using the "T-Chart" (Speaker A vs. Speaker B) for dialogue, and hierarchical flow charts for academic lectures.
  5. Strategy: Identifying speaker attitude, implied meaning, and tracking details without losing the main concept.
  6. Weekend Lab: Full Listening section practice (47 items / 29 minutes).

Week 3: Functional Writing

Building systematic response habits for structural mechanics and fast essay formatting.

  2. Focus: Imitating intonation patterns, word stress, and natural linking sounds over 7 real-life sentence tasks.
  3. Day 3-4: The Oral Presentation (Take an Interview)
  4. Focus: Structuring ideas for 4 sustained, sequential questions about a single theme.
  5. Template: Core assertion $\rightarrow$ Transitional Bridge ("Specifically...") $\rightarrow$ Concrete Illustration $\rightarrow$ Conclusion.
  6. Day 5 to Weekend: Full-length mock exam practice under official timed constraints.

🛠️ Procedural Strategy: Attacking the "Academic Discussion" Task

The Academic Discussion task gives you only 10 minutes to read a professor's prompt, evaluate two student posts, and formulate an original response. Follow this structural blueprint to maximize efficiency:

1.Analyze the Prompt & Existing Points:Minutes 0:00 - 1:30.Identify the professor's core question. Read the two student perspectives (e.g., Student A supports economic focus, Student B supports environmental focus). Pinpoint the argument gaps or connections between them.

2.Establish Your Thesis:Minutes 1:30 - 2:00.Formulate your clear stance. Your position can either directly expand on one student's view using a distinct point or propose a nuanced middle ground.

3.Draft the Core Argument:Minutes 2:00 - 8:30.Write your response using academic transitional structures. Refer explicitly to the discussion: "While Student A correctly highlights the financial implications, they overlook the long-term..." Add your concrete example.

4.Proofread and Refine Mechanics:Minutes 8:30 - 10:00.Check for subject-verb agreement, accurate verb tenses, and spelling errors. Ensure your transitions create a smooth logical flow.

📈 Score Optimization Principles

The First-Stage Rule: In a multistage adaptive setup, your performance in the initial modules dictates the difficulty tier of your second module. Focus deeply on accuracy in the first half of your Reading and Listening tests to ensure you unlock the high-tier scoring branches.
  1. Pacing: You have roughly 1.4 minutes per item in the reading sections. If an academic question stalls your progress for more than 45 seconds, eliminate obviously incorrect options, pick the best remaining choice, and keep moving forward.
  2. Vocabulary Approach: Do not rely solely on absolute dictionary meanings. Evaluate how words adapt to the tone, register, and context of the specific paragraph.
