Class description
Welcome to our Yoruba Beginner's Class for Children!
This course is specially designed for children who are new to the Yoruba language or have little previous knowledge of it. Through fun, interactive and child-friendly lessons, children will gradually develop their ability to understand, speak, read and use basic Yoruba expressions.
Students will learn Yoruba greetings, numbers, alphabets, colours, names of animals, parts of the body, family members, food, everyday objects and simple conversations.
Our lessons incorporate pictures, songs, storytelling, games, repetition and practical activities to make learning enjoyable and memorable.
The class provides a supportive environment where children can learn at their own pace, practise speaking without fear and develop an appreciation for Yoruba language and culture.
Who is this course for?
This course is designed for children aged 5–14 who are beginners in Yoruba. It is ideal for children living in Nigeria or abroad, especially those in the diaspora whose parents want them to learn their mother tongue, communicate with family members and connect with Yoruba culture.
How will this course help you reach your goal?
By the end of this course, students will be able to recognise and use basic Yoruba words and expressions, introduce themselves, exchange greetings, count numbers, identify common objects and engage in simple everyday conversations. They will also develop better listening, pronunciation and speaking skills while gaining confidence in using Yoruba.
